Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Kenney) Crincoli, 88, passed peacefully on January 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in Charlotte, NC. Her family will receive friends following a funeral Mass celebrating her life at St. Philomena’s Church, 386 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, NJ, on Friday, February 4, at 9:30 am, and the committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ, at 11 am. Born in Newark, NJ to Irish immigrants Alice and Henry Kenney, Betty was a cheerleader at Our Lady of the Valley in Orange, NJ when she encountered a standout basketball player from nearby West Side High School, Dominick Crincoli, her future husband, who had just sunk a shot from half-court. Following a May 1955 wedding, the couple settled in Livingston, NJ, and remained happily married for 55 years, raising three children by whom she is survived, Marybeth, who is married to Bill Christiano and resides in Leland, NC, Angelo, who resides in Bloomfield, NJ, and Dominick, who is married to Leslie K. and resides in Concord, NC. Betty spent time as a loving homemaker in Livingston, enjoying family and friends, gardening, supporting Irish heritage events and causes, and serving as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader before joining her cousins at the Local 68 Union of Operating Engineers in Fairfield, NJ, where she worked as an administrative secretary for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Betty is predeceased by her husband, Dominick, who passed in 2010, and is survived by a brother, Thomas Kenney, and wife, Nancy, who reside in Livingston, NJ, and her grandchildren: Jacky Crincoli, Stephen Christiano and wife, Jennifer, Jenell Dangler and husband, Sean, Shannon Unick and husband, Ryan; and Angelo Crincoli, Jr., and several great-grandchildren: Victoria and Patrick Dangler, Gianna and William Christiano, and Nicholas, Michael, Johnny, and Lexi Crincoli.
